Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks an Entry-Level Structural Engineer to join our Nuclear Power Group. You will apply structural engineering fundamentals to steel and concrete design, and collaborate with engineers across disciplines on nuclear facilities and plant modernization projects.

You will work on design calculations, prepare specifications, and support drawing development while performing structural analyses for wind and seismic loads. A hybrid work arrangement and relocation support are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s of Science in Structural/Civil Engineering with strong background in materials, analysis, and design.
• Completion of coursework in steel and concrete design.
• Knowledge of applying loads analysis for structural supports and design integrity.
• Experience with structural design techniques for technical plans, drawings, and models.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.
• Must be bilingual in Spanish and English (read, speak, and write).

Responsibilities

• Apply knowledge of materials, structural analysis, steel design, and reinforced concrete design.
• Work on projects for various clients, prepare calculations, develop specifications, and support drawing development.
• Perform structural analysis and design of steel frames, connections, concrete members, supports, and foundations.
• Conduct structural analyses including wind and seismic loads.
• Receive training and mentorship from experienced engineers; potential for travel to client/vendor offices and plant sites.
