Job summary

Serco is hiring Shipyard Laborers to support U.S. Navy projects. The role is based in the Norfolk/Chesapeake area with a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork. You'll perform manual labor, assist welders, and help with electrical cabling while working under supervision.

Qualified candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, be able to obtain a Secret clearance, pass a background check and drug screen, and be willing to work second shift and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
• Must be able to pass a background investigation and drug screening.
• Willingness to work second shift and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Perform general manual labor including loading, unloading, lifting and moving supplies and materials.
• Act as a fire watch and welder's helper; install electric cabling when needed.
• Work under immediate supervision; primary duties may not require independent judgment.
• Travel up to 10% to different shipyards in Norfolk and/or Chesapeake.
