Job summary

Serco is seeking Shipyard Laborers to support U.S. Navy projects in a Norfolk/Norfolk-area setting. The role involves general manual labor, fire watch duties, and assisting with electrical work on shipboard installations. You will work under supervision and may travel to various shipyards in the region.

A High School Diploma or GED is required, along with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance and pass a background/drug screen. Second shift availability and overtime are expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance.
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening.
• Willingness to work second shift and overtime (more than 40 hours).
• Travel up to 10% to different shipyards (Norfolk/Chesapeake).

Responsibilities

• Perform general manual labor: loading/unloading, lifting, moving materials.
• Serve as fire watch and welder's helper as needed and assist with installing electric cables.
• Work under supervision with limited independent judgment.
• Collaborate with customer and Serco team to support high-technology shipboard installations.
