Job summary

SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium is seeking an entry-level Patient Care Coordination Specialist I to serve as the primary contact for patients and support access to care. You will register patients, verify demographics and insurance, schedule appointments, and ensure high-quality customer service within our EHR workflow.

The role emphasizes accuracy, attention to detail, and adherence to established workflows.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 1 year healthcare, customer service, or administrative experience preferred.
• Knowledge of front-end revenue cycle and registration requirements.
• Accurate data entry and attention to detail required.
• Strong verbal and written communication; professional interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Register and pre-register patients with accurate demographic, insurance, and eligibility information in the EHR.
• Perform patient check-in and support self‑check-in; collect co-pays and required forms.
• Monitor appointment confirmations and follow up on unconfirmed appointments.
• Schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments across service lines per established protocols.
• Manage worklists and outreach to support care team and clinic priorities.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold Standards of Service Excellence.
