You will verify demographics, collect payments, and maintain privacy compliant processes while guiding patients to the right service areas and communicating care updates to families in waiting rooms.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree can be considered in lieu of two years of experience.
• 2 years of Customer Service or Data Entry experience required.
• Proficiency in computer keyboarding is required.
• Knowledge of third-party payers, ICD-9/CPT coding and medical terminology is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Register patients by verifying identity and selecting the correct record.
• Review schedules and physician orders to register patients for appropriate services.
• Scan documents (insurance cards, IDs, Living Wills, POAs) and enter demographics in the EHR.
• Explain and complete regulatory and compliance forms; uphold privacy standards.
• Explain and collect co-pays, deposits and outstanding balances; conduct transactions securely.
• Greet patients and families; answer questions and guide to the correct service area.
• May perform scheduling, pre-admission and discharge duties; provide updates to families.
