Sentara Princess Anne Hospital in Virginia Beach, VA, is seeking a Part Time Patient Access Representative I to handle patient registration, insurance verification, and scheduling duties. You will verify demographics, collect co-pays, and help patients navigate regulatory forms while maintaining privacy and compliance standards.

This role serves as the first contact and supports families in the waiting areas.

Qualifications

• 2 years of Customer Service and/or Data Entry.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in lieu of two years experience.
• Proficiency in Keyboarding.

Responsibilities

• Register patients by verifying identity and selecting the correct patient record.
• Review schedules and physician orders to register for the appropriate service.
• Scan insurance cards, IDs, Living Wills, and POAs; verify and enter demographic and insurance data.
• Explain and collect co-payments, deposits, and outstanding balances; process transactions securely.
• Greet patients and families; answer questions; direct to the correct service area.
• May perform scheduling, pre-admission, and discharge duties.
