Job summary

Amentum is seeking a General Maintenance Technician I to join our operations & maintenance team in Long Beach, CA. The role involves responding to work orders, troubleshooting, and performing emergency and preventive maintenance on building equipment in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities include safety compliance, maintaining facility equipment, and supporting other trades as needed. Minimum requirements include a high school diploma and 0-1 years of related experience; some positions

Qualifications

• High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
• 0-1 years of maintenance experience in Industrial HVAC/Industrial Mechanical or Automotive Repair.
• Ability to work in an aerial lift or scissor lift up to 30 feet or higher.

Responsibilities

• Safely performs functions of the position following safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tagout procedures and wearing PPE as required.
• Operates, maintains, and repairs all facility and production equipment in compliance with company regulations and standards.
• Identifies equipment failures, inspects, replaces, alters, and maintains in good repair all building and related equipment.
• Performs planned maintenance on building equipment and related services for the specific area while being responsive to customer needs.
• Performs preventive maintenance inspections.
• Executes planned maintenance procedures, performs job estimates, maintains spare parts inventory and informs stock personnel of parts consumption.
• Assists in installing, inspecting new equipment and servicing installations.
• Provides support to co-workers, contractors, vendors, project managers, building managers, and engineers for project and renovation work.
• Complies with governmental, company, and industrial regulations, codes, and standards, health safety practices, and permit systems.
• Performs preventive maintenance as scheduled in CMMS and responds to work orders while ensuring compliance to codes and standards.
• Recommends measures to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance.
• Operates measuring, diagnostic and testing instruments to provide energy efficiency solutions.
• Operates tools and equipment including hand tools, laptops, and diagnostic hardware to perform work.
• Maintains a flexible schedule to meet customer needs while performing duties.
