Job summary

CannonDesign in Chicago, IL is seeking an entry-level interior designer with a design/technical focus to join a multi-disciplinary team on a Mayo Clinic healthcare project. The role centers on supporting design leadership from programming through construction administration on site.

You will assist with space planning, FF&E selections, drawings, renderings, and finish plans, while gaining exposure to code compliance and presentation material.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or relevant field by hire date.
• Strong portfolio and communication, teamwork, presentation, graphics and multitasking skills.
• Proficiency with Revit and Enscape preferred; Bluebeam, Office and Adobe Creative Suite required.
• Professional business attire for client meetings; travel required.

Responsibilities

• Assist design team through all project phases from Programming to Construction Administration.
• Support FF&E selections, layouts and documentation.
• Help develop interior drawings: floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, elevations and finishes.
• Conduct research for products and finishes; assist finish plans and specifications.
• Familiarize with building and life-safety codes and apply to Interior Design work.
• Assist in preparing computerized renderings and presentation materials.
• Produce drawings and support project time, cost and quality constraints.
• Follow CannonDesign drawing standards.
• Maintain interior design library and order samples as needed.
• Visit job sites to verify conditions and observe progress.
• May perform other duties as required.
