Job summary

CannonDesign is seeking an experienced interior design leader for a high-profile healthcare project on Mayo Clinic’s campus in New York. You will guide client teams, shape design concepts, and manage all phases from pursuit to construction administration with a focus on safety, performance, and compelling storytelling.

The role demands senior-level leadership, collaboration across disciplines, and a strong track record of delivering complex interiors on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or relevant field required.
• A minimum of 8 years of related experience required.
• Current NCIDQ certification is preferred.
• Ability to lead interior design across multiple projects and teams.
• Strong design, storytelling and technical skills with knowledge of codes.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to clients and project teams in establishing goals and vision.
• Lead interior design across multiple projects and through all design phases.
• Coordinate design work with architecture, engineering and consultants.
• Review drawings to ensure time, budget and quality compliance.
• Develop furniture, fixtures and equipment (FFE) concepts across phases.
• Mentor less experienced interior design staff and promote design leadership.
• Lead client meetings and maintain strong client relationships.
• Participate in marketing and interview activities.
