Job summary

Atlanta Gas Light is seeking an entry-level general technician to join our below-ground crew. You will assist in installing, maintaining, and repairing gas mains and service lines while staying under supervision and following all safety protocols.

You will operate basic tools, read meters, and support field operations, with opportunities to learn meter reading, ERT installations, and regulatory procedures as part of the team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to use basic hand tools.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Ability to pass basic skills assessments.
• Experience with field operations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in installing, repairing, and maintaining gas mains and service lines.
• Operate basic equipment and hand tools on a distribution crew.
• Perform meter reading and basic ERT installations.
• Monitor safety guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Document tasks accurately using company systems.
• Assist in deactivation of service and leak investigations.
