Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps is seeking entry-level, paid, full-time members in Missouri to coach and mentor students across elementary to high school. You will plan, monitor progress and work with teachers to support classrooms and student learning.

You will receive 2–4 weeks of onboarding training and collaborate with partner teachers and school staff throughout the year to foster student success and positive behaviors.

Qualifications

• Experience in all these tasks is not necessary.
• 2-4 weeks of training at the beginning of the year to support you.
• You will work with partner teachers and school staff every step of the way.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students to achieve academic success 1:1 and in small groups.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress and work with teachers on in-class instruction and student support.
• Support academic coaching and interpersonal development for students as part of City Year AmeriCorps.
• Create an engaging, safe and healthy classroom space in collaboration with the teacher.
• Support and/or conduct extended day and virtual programming for students before, during and after school.
