Job summary

Sysco is seeking a Fleet Technician Journeyman trainee to learn and perform preventive maintenance inspections and repairs on the company’s fleet of vehicles and equipment. You will diagnose issues and perform repairs as needed to reduce downtime and improve reliability.

Under supervision, you will document work in SAP, prioritize scheduled maintenance, and determine roadworthiness in line with DOT regulations. Training and ongoing skill development are provided to support career growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; two-year truck technician training preferred.
• None of the above; formal training will be provided or encouraged for skill growth.
• Basic knowledge of vehicle systems and components, with emphasis on preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Learn to perform inspections and preventive maintenance on tractors, trailers, and related equipment under supervision.
• Assist in repairs and diagnostics for engines, transmissions, fuel and ignition systems, brakes, HVAC, and related components.
• Document all work using SAP with clear problem, cause, and correction notes.
• Develop efficiency with Sysco computer programs and PM schedules.
• Help determine roadworthiness and compliance with DOT before release to operations.
