Job summary

Sysco Detroit is looking for a Fleet Technician in training to support journeyman technicians in inspections and preventive maintenance on tractors, trailers, and equipment. You’ll learn to diagnose issues, perform repairs, and help ensure DOT compliance to keep vehicles safe and reliable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and 2-year truck technician training.
• Valid driver's license; CDL-A preferred.
• Basic knowledge of vehicle systems and electrical repairs.

Responsibilities

• Learn to perform required inspections and preventive maintenance under guidance.
• Assist with repairs on engines, transmissions, brake and HVAC systems.
• Document work orders with accurate cause and correction details in SAP.
• Help determine roadworthiness and DOT compliance before release.
