Job summary

Sysco Northeast Rdc is seeking a Fleet Technician Journeyman trainee to assist in performing inspections and preventive maintenance on tractors, trailers, and related equipment. You will learn to diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, fuel and ignition, HVAC, and liftgate systems while maintaining safety and compliance with DOT standards.

Responsibilities include documenting work in SAP, coordinating with fleet managers, and helping prioritize tasks to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• Current and Valid Drivers License, CDL-A preferred.
• Basic knowledge and skill of all vehicle systems and components.
• Basic knowledge and skill in diagnosis and repair of electrical systems on all equipment.
• Basic knowledge and skill in welding and cutting (gas, electric, MIG, TIG).
• Physical demands including standing, walking, and maneuvering; vision requirements.

Responsibilities

• Learn to perform required inspections and preventive maintenance under guidance.
• Learn to perform maintenance repairs on all vehicles (inspections, scheduled repairs, road-call repairs).
• Document all work performed on the work order using SAP format.
• Develop efficiency in maintenance related to Sysco computer programs.
