Job summary

Alaska Department of Health is seeking an entry-level Eligibility Technician 1 to join a statewide workflow team. The role involves case management and applying policies to determine eligibility for benefits, serving as the first contact at multiple access points to assist Alaskans in need.

You will work across Alaska offices, with emphasis on accuracy, timeliness, and guiding clients to available resources.

Qualifications

• One year of experience that included applying statutes, regulations, program requirements, or similar criteria to process, review, and evaluate such documents (e.g., applications for employment, programs or services, etc.).
• Experience with extensive person-to-person contact explaining policies, procedures, or requirements; providing instruction or training; interviewing or counseling individuals.
• Post-secondary education may substitute for the required experience (undergraduate credits: 2.67 semester/4 quarter hours = 1 month).

Responsibilities

• Handle case management and workflow with attention to policy and procedures.
• Serve as the first point of contact for clients across all access points.
• Ensure timely determinations of benefits and provide correct information and resources.
