Job summary

Intermountain Health seeks an Echo Technician at Good Samaritan Hospital to perform diagnostic cardiac/vascular ultrasound exams under physician supervision. Ideal for recent echocardiography program graduates or those new to the field. Part-time role with 30 hours weekly, including 10-hour days and on-call shifts.

The position emphasizes patient care, teamwork, and ongoing education; expected to mentor students and other caregivers while maintaining exam quality and safety.

Qualifications

• ARDMS or CCI certification in cardiac or vascular sonography.
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred; Education from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.

Responsibilities

• Operate ultrasound exams per department protocols and ensure timely performance.
• Prioritize and schedule exams; coordinate with medical staff and patients.
• Prepare patient, obtain consent, educate patient/family, transport patient as needed.
• Contain safety and comfort during exams and document results accurately.
• Mentor caregivers and students on equipment use and procedures.
• Maintain equipment, supplies, and exam documentation; apply correct charge codes.
