Entry-Level Business Development Representative

Shelton, CT | Outside Sales & Business Development

Our Express Employment Professionals office in Shelton, CT is growing, and we're looking for the right person to join our team as an Entry-Level Business Development Representative (Sales Coordinator).

No prior sales or staffing industry experience is required. We will train the right candidate.

In this role, you'll introduce local businesses throughout our Shelton territory to the staffing and workforce solutions Express Employment Professionals provides. You'll connect with prospective clients through outbound phone calls, emails, in-person sales visits and appointments while working closely with our recruiting team to identify hiring needs and build new business relationships.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start or grow a career in sales, business development, outside sales or staffing with hands-on training and ongoing mentorship.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Identify and qualify potential business leads within our territory, including researching local companies that are hiring
• Make daily outbound sales calls and emails and conduct in-person prospect visits to introduce Express staffing services
• Conduct sales calls, appointments and virtual meetings with prospective business clients
• Learn the staffing and workforce solutions Express provides and educate potential business partners on the benefits of working with Express
• Develop an organized and consistent follow-up process for prospective clients
• Build relationships with businesses throughout Shelton and the Greater Valley area
• Use creativity to develop marketing campaigns, prospecting strategies and client drop-off ideas
• Track sales activities, prospecting efforts and results using our internal territory database and sales planner
• Monitor and report key sales metrics to help our management, franchise ownership and recruiting team adjust strategies
• Work closely with our recruiters to identify opportunities and maximize Express brand awareness throughout the local business community

A vehicle is required for outside sales calls, prospect visits and client appointments. Mileage reimbursement is provided.

THE OPPORTUNITY

This position provides hands-on sales experience, professional training and continuous mentorship. You'll develop your sales and business development skills while building relationships with companies throughout the Greater Valley area of Connecticut.

Success starts with opening doors and creating conversations. Setting an appointment between a prospective business and our Franchisee is a win.

This is a base salary of $50,000/year plus performance-based commission position, giving you the opportunity to directly influence your earnings and career growth.
