Job summary

G&W Electric Co. is hiring an Assembler I to perform sub-assembly and assembly tasks with basic complexity. You will study instructions, read blueprints, gather parts, and assemble components, ensuring correct fit and quality.

You may assist with prototypes and maintain a safe, efficient workspace. Strong reading of drawings, basic computer skills, and ability to follow English instructions are required. Experience in manufacturing is a plus; health benefits and a supportive team environment

Qualifications

• Has a High School diploma, GED or combination of work experience and skill development.
• Ideally has 0-1 year experience working in a manufacturing environment
• Is able to safely use small hand and power tools
• Is able to read and interpret Drawings and Bills of Material
• Has basic computer skills
• Is able to read instructions and understand verbal instructions in English

Responsibilities

• Prepare work by studying assembly instructions, blueprints, and parts lists; gather parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
• Position parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements
• Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit; fasten parts and subassemblies
• Assist in building prototypes and other basic assembly projects as needed
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by following procedures, rules, and regulations
• Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies efficiently
• Train others in basic assembly tasks as needed
• Inspect all work and ensure it meets requirements before passing to next operation
• Document actions by completing production and quality forms
