Job summary

G&W Electric in Bolingbrook, IL is seeking an Assembler I (5:00am to 1:30pm) to perform various sub-assembly and assembly operations of basic complexity. You will prepare, measure, assemble, and inspect components, while maintaining a safe work environment and documenting production activities.

Prior experience is preferred but not required. The role involves reading blueprints, using hand and power tools, and possibly assisting with prototypes.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
• 0-1 year experience in manufacturing preferred.
• Able to safely use small hand and power tools.
• Able to read and interpret Drawings and Bills of Material
• Basic computer skills.
• Able to read instructions and understand verbal instructions in English.

Responsibilities

• Prepare work by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specs, and parts lists; gather parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
• Position parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.
• Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit and fastening parts and subassemblies.
• Assist in building prototypes and other basic assembly projects as needed outside normal production.
• Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish results.
• Train others in basic assembly tasks as needed to contribute to team effort.
• Inspect all work and ensure it meets requirements before passing to next operation.
• Document actions by completing production and quality forms.
