Job summary

FirstEnergy Corp in the United States seeks a Director, Enterprise Project Management Office to lead a senior team across the Business Transformation portfolio. You will own the project delivery methodology, stage-gate governance, and delivery health reporting, guiding multiple concurrent initiatives within a regulated utility environment.

This on-site role requires travel across the service territory, strong leadership and communication with executives, and the ability to rescope or re-sequence

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, information systems, or a related discipline; +10 years of relevant work experience.
• Master's degree or MBA preferred.
• Experience leading project or program delivery across multiple concurrent initiatives.
• PMP, PfMP, or equivalent portfolio or program management certification.
• Experience establishing delivery methodology, standards, or governance.
• Experience leading and developing a team of project or program managers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including influencing senior leaders.
• Ability to manage a portfolio across multiple business units and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Project Managers and build PM capability with governance, stages, and reporting.
• Own delivery health across the portfolio and provide forecasting to executives.
• Advise leadership on rescoping, re-sequencing, or stopping work when needed.
• Own resource scheduling and capacity across concurrent initiatives.
• Identify systemic delivery failures and drive changes to methodology or governance.
• Select, develop, implement, and improve PM tooling and templates.
• Build PM capability beyond the team with standards, training, and coaching.
• Manage third-party delivery resources and contractor capacity.
• Contribute to Business Transformation strategy and governance as part of leadership.
