Job summary

FirstEnergy Corp in the United States seeks a Director, Enterprise Project Management Office to lead a senior team delivering the Business Transformation portfolio across multiple initiatives. This role partners with executives to standardize delivery, governance, and scoping, driving measurable improvements in on-time and on-budget outcomes.

Travel is required as needed; candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, information systems, or a related discipline and at least 10 years of work experience.
• Master's degree or MBA preferred.
• Experience leading project or program delivery across multiple concurrent initiatives.
• PMP, PfMP, or equivalent portfolio/program management certification.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with senior leaders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Project Managers and build project management as a core capability within Business Transformation.
• Own the delivery methodology and governance framework for all initiatives, including stage gates and reporting cadence.
• Own delivery health across the portfolio and forecast to executive leadership.
• Advise leadership on rescope, resequence, or stop work to improve outcomes.
• Own resource scheduling and capacity management across concurrent initiatives.
• Identify systemic causes of delivery failure and drive changes to methodology or governance.
• Select and/or develop and improve project management tooling and templates.
• Build project management capabilities across the enterprise with standards and training.
