Job summary

FirstEnergy Corp is seeking a Director of the Enterprise Project Management Office to lead a senior team across multiple concurrent initiatives within the Business Transformation function. You will establish delivery methodology, stage-gate governance, and portfolio health reporting to executives, ensuring on-time, on-budget outcomes aligned with strategic goals.

Travel to work locations across the territory is required; candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, information systems, or related discipline.
• Master's degree or MBA preferred.
• Experience leading project/program delivery across multiple concurrent initiatives.
• PMP, PfMP, or equivalent certification.
• Experience establishing project delivery methodology, standards, or governance.
• Experience leading and developing a team of project or program managers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage a portfolio across multiple business units and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Project Managers and build PM capability across Business Transformation.
• Own delivery methodology, governance, stage gates, reporting cadence, risk and issue management.
• Drive delivery health, forecast reporting to executives, and rescope or stop work when needed.
• Manage resource scheduling and capacity across concurrent initiatives.
• Identify systemic causes of delivery failure and drive improvements in methodology and governance.
• Develop and deploy project management tooling and templates across the enterprise.
• Build PMO capability beyond the team through standards, training, and coaching.
• Oversee third-party resources and contractor capacity for the portfolio.
