Job summary

FirstEnergy, an electric utility based in Ohio, is seeking a Director of the Enterprise Project Management Office. The role leads a senior team responsible for delivery discipline across the Business Transformation portfolio, including stage-gate governance and reporting to executives.

Travel to work locations across the service territory is required. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant work experience in project or program delivery.
• Prescribed PMP, PfMP, or equivalent certification.
• Experience leading multiple concurrent initiatives and teams.
• Ability to influence senior leaders and manage a portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Project Managers and establish governance across initiatives.
• Own delivery health across the portfolio and report performance to executives.
• Advise leadership on rescoping, re-sequencing, or stopping work as needed.
• Own resource scheduling and capacity management for concurrent initiatives.
• Identify systemic causes of delivery failure and drive improvements.
• Select, implement, and improve project management tooling and templates.
• Build project management capability beyond the team through standards and training.
• Manage third-party delivery resources and contractor capacity.
• Contribute to Business Transformation strategy as a leadership team member.
