Job summary

Fireworks is seeking an AI Field Engineer to embed with enterprise customers, turning complex GenAI problems into production systems, fast. You ship code, run benchmarks, debug production issues, and architect deployments, while also engaging in executive-level conversations about architecture, strategy, and business outcomes.

You spend significant time on-site with customers, building relationships and trust that translate customer pain points into product improvements and measurable outcomes

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a hands-on, customer-facing technical role.
• Shipped production software with customers.
• Strong Python skills; comfortable with production code.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and infrastructure engineering.
• LLM stack knowledge: inference trade-offs, model serving, fine-tuning workflows.
• Experience with hyperscaler AI platforms (Azure AI Foundry, AWS Bedrock/SageMaker, GCP Vertex).
• Excellent ability to present to VPs and debug latency issues with ML engineers.

Responsibilities

• Build end-to-end POCs and MVPs with customer engineering teams.
• Architect inference foundations and scalable deployments with customers.
• Run load tests, establish latency and cost baselines, tune deployments.
• Deploy and validate new model families on inference frameworks.
