Job summary

Vertex Inc. is seeking a high-performing salesperson to drive revenue by selling Vertex transaction tax solutions to new and existing accounts within a defined United States territory.

The role requires developing account plans, understanding customer tax needs, and building executive-level relationships to champion Vertex solutions. Responsibilities include creating strategic account plans, responding to RFPs, and collaborating with Vertex Consulting to deliver tailored proposals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing or Business.
• Fifteen (15)+ years outside sales experience in transaction tax software.
• Experience selling to mid- or senior-level decision makers.
• Background selling software or consulting services to enterprise buyers preferred.
• Knowledge of Vertex or comparable transaction tax software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Generate revenue by selling Vertex transaction tax solutions to defined prospects and accounts.
• Develop territory strategy and account plans to penetrate target accounts.
• Build long-term relationships with customers and executives to understand business needs.
• Lead RFP responses and co-create proposals with Vertex Consulting.
• Advance opportunities at strategic and tactical levels with sales management.
• Communicate Vertex's direction to customers and stakeholders at all levels.
