Job summary

Vertex Inc. is seeking a high-impact sales professional to drive revenue for tax solutions in a defined U.S. territory, including Massachusetts.

You will develop strategic account plans, build executive relationships, and lead proposals and RFP responses to expand Vertex’s footprint among new and existing clients. The role requires a deep understanding of tax software, a track record in complex multi-department deals, and the ability to articulate Vertex’s value at the executive level.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing or Business; 15+ years of outside sales in transaction tax software (sales tax/VAT) required.
• Strong working knowledge of Vertex or comparable transaction tax software preferred.
• Background selling software/consulting services to mid- or senior-level decision makers.

Responsibilities

• Generate revenue by selling Vertex tax solutions in a defined territory.
• Develop strategies and account plans to penetrate the territory and targeted accounts.
• Build executive-level relationships and respond to RFPs; develop joint proposals with Vertex Consulting.
• Drive opportunities at strategic and tactical levels by selling the enterprise value proposition of Vertex solutions.
• Manage accounts and communicate Vertex business direction to customers; stay informed of industry developments.
