Job summary

Northwestern Memorial seeks a Patient Liaison to enhance the patient experience by coordinating schedules, optimizing use of resources, and serving as a trusted resource for patients and staff. You will help monitor physician productivity, assist with scheduling changes, and act as a liaison across departments and vendors to resolve issues and improve care delivery.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years healthcare experience.
• Experience in a customer service role.

Responsibilities

• Manages schedules to optimize resources including providers, rooms and equipment.
• Performs schedule maintenance and coordinates care alternatives for patients.
• Communicates with patients and staff to ensure treatment plan compliance.
• Assists Practice Manager with data collection related to physician productivity and resource utilization.
• Facilitates the resolution of billing errors and denials, including obtaining pre-certifications or referrals as needed.
• Registers patients and schedules or coordinates the scheduling of appointments.
• Provides patient education information and materials as needed.
• Maintains strong relationships with patients, internal providers and staff, external hospital departments, physician offices and vendors.
• Answers inquiries from patients, providers, staff and others related to practice operations.
• Conducts follow-up with patients to ensure compliance with testing, prescriptions and the plan of care.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
