Job summary

Northwestern Memorial Hospital is seeking a Patient Liaison to oversee the service experience for all patients and optimize the use of practice resources. You will build strong relationships, provide essential information, and advocate for patients as needed.

The position requires a HS diploma and 2 years of healthcare or customer service experience, with preferred EMR familiarity and medical terminology knowledge. Competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 2 years of healthcare experience.
• Experience in a customer service role.

Responsibilities

• Manage schedules to optimize resources including providers, rooms, and equipment.
• Perform schedule maintenance and coordinate care alternatives for patients impacted by changes.
• Communicate with patients or clinical staff to ensure treatment plan compliance.
• Assist with data collection and analysis related to physician productivity.
• Help resolve billing errors and obtain pre-certifications or referrals as needed.
• Register patients and schedule or coordinate the scheduling of appointments.
• Provide patient education materials as needed.
• Maintain relationships with patients, providers, and departments.
• Answer incoming inquiries related to practice operations.
• Follow up with patients to ensure adherence to tests and the plan of care.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
