Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Patient Liaison to oversee the service experience for patients and optimize the use of practice resources. You will build strong relationships with patients and staff, provide necessary information, and advocate on their behalf.

This role requires 2 years of healthcare experience and strong customer service skills, with the option to advance through training, benefits include tuition reimbursement, student loan repayment, and a comprehensive Total Rewards

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• 2 years previous healthcare experience.
• Experience in a customer service role.
• Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
• Previous experience with an electronic medical record system (EMR).
• Knowledge of medical terminology (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Manages schedules to optimize resources including providers, rooms and equipment.
• Registers patients and schedules or coordinates the scheduling of appointments.
• Communicates with patients and/or clinical staff to ensure adherence to prescribed plans.
• Assists Practice Manager with data collection and analysis related to physician productivity and resource utilization.
• Facilitates the resolution of billing errors and denials and coordinates referrals as needed.
• Maintains strong relationships with patients, staff, and external departments.
• Provides patient education information and materials as needed.
