Job summary

Atrius Health is seeking a Medical Assistant for ENT to support clinicians with routine procedures, pre-visit preparation, and EMR updates. The role emphasizes accurate data entry, patient communication, and efficient workflow in a fast-paced clinic.

You will perform point-of-care waived tests, assist with exams, and ensure proper documentation while interacting with patients and families in eastern Massachusetts.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalency certificate recognized by an accredited institution or governmental unit.
• Medical Assistant Certification required.
• Associate degree in medical assisting or graduate of medical assistant certification program preferred.
• BLS certification strongly preferred or obtainable within 30 days of hire.
• Experience in a clinical or customer service setting typically 1+ years; degree may substitute for experience.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate efficient flow of patients to maximize appointment availability.
• Greet and escort patients to exam rooms following policy.
• Prepare patients for examination; measure vital signs.
• Assist clinicians with routine procedures and tests; advise on pre-visit testing.
• Update the EMR with medical information; ensure demographic, medication, allergies and chief complaints are current.
• Keep patients informed of visit status and delays.
• Reconcile medications and manage refills; discontinue inactive prescriptions.
• Resolve minor patient concerns and complaints.
• Order and perform point-of-care waived tests (strep, urine, hCG, glucose).
