Job summary

Atrius Health, part of the Optum family, is hiring a Medical Assistant to support clinicians with routine procedures in the exam room and to prep patients for exams. You will document results in the EMR, monitor vitals, and help maintain a smooth flow of patients across our eastern Massachusetts locations.

Requirements include a high school diploma or MA certification; preferred is an associate degree in medical assisting.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalency certificate.
Medical Assistant Certification.
Associate degree in medical assisting preferred.
Experience with EMR and charting.

Responsibilities

Provides efficient flow of patients to optimize appointment availability.
Greets and escorts patients to exam rooms according to policy.
Prepare patient for examination; measures vital signs (BP, pulse, weight, height).
Assist clinicians with routine clinical procedures and/or tests.
Ensure EMR is updated with medical information and demographic data.
Maintain patient informed of visit status and delays.
Reconcile medications and set up pending refills.
Assist in resolving patient concerns as appropriate.
Orders and performs point-of-care testing (strep, urine, hCG, glucose).
