The State of North Carolina’s Department of Transportation seeks an Engineering Technician III (S) to lead project inspection on highway construction, supporting engineers in administration and ensuring work aligns with plans and specs. You will supervise technicians and monitor progress to keep projects on schedule.

Responsibilities include daily diary and survey documentation, field calculations, and maintaining required certifications.

Competenze

Experience applying engineering concepts to solve problems
Experience working in a team environment to complete assignments
Customer service experience related to explaining engineering concepts to various groups
Experience analyzing and interpreting highway construction plans
Experience planning, developing, scheduling, tracking, and completing projects independently or with limited supervision

Mansioni

Lead project inspector and support higher level engineers in highway construction administration.
Monitor daily progress and resolve constructability issues to maintain schedules.
Direct and schedule technicians in staking out and inspecting all phases of construction.
Manage all aspects of assigned projects with limited supervision; may supervise/train multiple technicians.
Document daily diaries and survey notes; perform construction-related calculations; maintain required certifications.
