The State of North Carolina Department of Transportation invites applications for an Engineering Technician III (S) in the Division of Highways. The role focuses on supervising inspections of maintenance activities in Wayne County, collecting field data, and managing technicians in the field to ensure safe and compliant operations.

Emphasis is on coordinating emergency response during severe weather and disasters, performing documentation duties, and supporting program planning for HMIP/RMIP.

Competenze

• Associate degree and 3 years of progressive technician experience or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering data and field notes.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to emergencies as needed.

Mansioni

• Oversee and manage inspections of contracted and force account activities for Highway Maintenance Operations in Wayne County.
• Assist Engineer with field data collection and record keeping; supervise Technicians in the field.
• Support emergency response during inclement weather and disasters; participate in RMIP/HMIP planning.
• Obtain hydrology reports, call 811 for locates, and gather project documentation as required.
