Job summary

Datavant is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead Platform Continuity, a new team within Cloud Platform Engineering. You will guide senior and staff-level SREs across the US, Ireland, and Spain, driving automation and runbook-based operations for multi-cloud environments.

You will own intake and acceptance processes, strive for zero handoffs, and collaborate with widespread stakeholders to keep systems healthy while reducing manual toil.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of engineering management experience, including distributed or international teams across multiple time zones.
• Strong cloud infrastructure operations credibility for staff-level SREs.
• Terraform/IaC knowledge with state management and workspace hygiene at scale.
• Solid Kubernetes operational knowledge (EKS/AKS), cluster health and troubleshooting.
• Experience with AWS (required) and Azure (plus) in regulated environments.
• Hands-on Datadog experience including monitoring, alerts, dashboards.
• Proven ability to build runbooks, SLAs, intake processes, escalation paths, and shift-left frameworks.
• Clear communication for defining scope, cross-team expectations, and explaining tradeoffs.
• Comfort with ambiguity in a newly scoped team and operating-model development.

Responsibilities

• Lead and retain a distributed team of senior and staff-level SREs across US, Ireland, and Spain.
• Own the Operational Intake & Acceptance process with runbooks and context.
• Drive shift-left and automate repeatable patterns with the Cloud Platform Tools team.
• Manage IaC, VDI, monitoring, cloud cost management, and SRE-tier support.
• Establish and track KTLO reduction as the north star metric with quarterly reviews.
• Build a reusable playbook library for reproducible, auditable work.
• Enforce intake criteria to keep ITSD scope separate from Platform Continuity.
• Coordinate with leadership to maintain clear ownership boundaries.
• Serve as escalation point for platform-level issues including production access and SSL management.
