Qualifications

• 5+ years of engineering management experience, including managing distributed or international teams across multiple time zones.
• Strong technical foundation in cloud infrastructure operations to engage Staff-level SREs and guide scope/escalation.
• Knowledge of Terraform/IaC; hands-on experience with infrastructure state, module versioning, and workspace hygiene.
• Solid Kubernetes operational knowledge (EKS/AKS) and cluster health, troubleshooting, and node management.
• Experience with AWS (required) and Azure (strong plus) in regulated or compliance-sensitive environments.
• Hands-on experience with observability platforms, Datadog preferred, including monitor management and dashboards.
• Demonstrated ability to build operational discipline: runbooks, SLAs, intake processes, escalation paths, shift-left.
• Clear communication skills for defining scope boundaries and managing cross-team expectations.
• Comfort with ambiguity—this is a new team with a bounded scope; define the operating model concurrently.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and retain a team of senior and staff-level SREs distributed across the US, Ireland, and Spain.
• Own the Operational Intake & Acceptance process: runbooks, architecture context, validated access, and knowledge transfer.
• Drive shift-left and automation by routing repeatable patterns for elimination with the Cloud Platform Tools team.
• Manage operational work across IaC/Terraform hygiene, VDI, monitoring, cost management, and SRE-level support.
• Establish and track the team’s north star: KTLO reduction from an 86% baseline with quarterly breakdowns.
• Build a playbook library to make work reproducible, auditable, and automatable.
• Enforce intake criteria to keep ITSD scope separate from Platform Continuity responsibilities.
• Coordinate with Cloud Platform Infra, Services, eSRE, and Tools leadership to align ownership.
• Serve as escalation point for platform issues including production access, SSL management, and state remediation.
