Datavant is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead Platform Continuity, a newly formed team within Cloud Platform Engineering. You will guide senior and staff-level SREs across multiple time zones and drive automation, playbooks, and tight intake processes to keep systems healthy and scalable.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of engineering management experience, including managing distributed or international teams across multiple time zones.
• Strong technical foundation in cloud infrastructure operations to credibility with Staff-level SREs.
• Knowledge of Terraform/IaC; state management, module versioning, and workspace hygiene at scale.
• Solid Kubernetes operational knowledge (EKS/AKS) for cluster health and troubleshooting.
• Experience with AWS (required) and Azure (strong plus) in regulated environments.
• Hands-on observability experience with Datadog, including monitor management and dashboards.
• Demonstrated ability to build operational discipline: runbooks, SLAs, intake processes, and escalation paths.
• Clear communication for defining scope boundaries and cross-team expectations.
• Comfort with ambiguity and defining operating model in parallel with execution.

Responsibilities

• Lead and retain a distributed team of senior and staff-level SREs across US, Ireland, and Spain.
• Own the Operational Intake & Acceptance process with runbooks, context, and knowledge transfer.
• Drive shift-left automation by routing repeatable patterns for elimination.
• Manage operational work across IaC hygiene, VDI, monitoring, cost management, and SRE support.
• Track and improve org-wide KTLO reduction from an 86% baseline.
• Build and maintain a reusable playbook library for reproducible work.
• Define intake criteria to keep ITSD scope separate from Platform Continuity work.
• Coordinate with Cloud Platform leadership to maintain ownership boundaries.
• Serve as escalation point for platform issues requiring non-self-diagnostic actions.
