Job summary

Accounting Search in Lynchburg, Virginia seeks an Engineering Manager to partner with the Director of Engineering to drive departmental strategy and on-time delivery of Engineered-to-Order products. You will direct engineering resources, manage BOMs, ensure ISO 9001:2008 adherence and QA support, and lead continuous improvement initiatives.

Promotion to Director of Engineering is possible within 6–9 months.

Qualifications

BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Minimum of 3 years manufacturing experience involving design and development of heat exchangers and/or related HVAC systems and components.
Three (3) years managerial experience; Virginia PE desirable.

Responsibilities

Manage departmental workflow to achieve on-time delivery and KPI targets.
Maintain up-to-date project and sales order tracking systems.
Maintain overall responsibility for existing product maintenance, enhancement and testing in response to market demands.
Disposition RMAs in a timely and effective manner.
Coordinate resources to provide timely support to QA and the Shop Floor on demand.
Develop and implement a BOM strategy for all products in support of strategic objectives.
Manage welding/brazing activities including procedures, approvals and certifications.
Review and approve (sign-off) engineering documents.
Manage approval and maintenance of third-party listings (AHRI, etc.).
Seek out new technology and opportunities for continuing education; continually seek process improvements.
