Job summary

Driftwood Hospitality Management in Raleigh is seeking a Chief Engineer to oversee the hotel’s engineering operations, ensuring safety, reliability, and compliance across electrical, mechanical, and life-safety systems. You will lead capital projects, supervise engineering staff, and coordinate with local authorities to maintain permits and standards.

The role requires a strong track record in engineering management in hospitality, with hands-on leadership, budgeting, and problem-solving

Qualifications

• Five or more years of related experience in building management/engineering.
• Substantial track record in profitable engineering management while maintaining integrity and professional bearing.
• Familiarity with hospitality industry practices preferred.
• Minimum of three years of managerial skills involving decisions, deadlines, vendor contracts, analytics and large-scale coordination.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the functionality and safety of the facility, including buildings, mechanical, electrical, life safety systems and grounds.
• Direct construction, maintenance and repair of electrical, mechanical and architectural systems to ensure operational efficiency and safety.
• Assign, verify and document completion in the property maintenance system.
• Coordinate with city/county/state officials to ensure permits, licenses and inspections are compliant.
• Lead capital projects and property rehabilitations; supervise staff and conduct evaluations.
• Direct emergency programs, staff training, drills, and recordkeeping; ensure safety compliance.
