Job summary

Midcontinent-Independent-System is seeking an Engineer III – Generator Interconnection to evaluate new and changing generation across the MISO footprint. You will assist with power system studies that determine how generation can reliably interconnect to the transmission system while serving as a technical resource for interconnection customers, Transmission Owners, and neighboring RTOs.

This role blends technical power system analysis with problem-solving and customer interaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or computer engineering (or related field).
• Minimum 3 years of relevant power engineering experience.
• Desirable: experience with PSS/E, MUST, TARA, TSAT or VSAT.

Responsibilities

• Assist with system impact studies for generator interconnection requests, evaluating reliability impacts.
• Review projects proposed by Transmission Owners, providing technical recommendations based on power system analysis.
• Communicate study results and requirements to interconnection customers, Transmission Owners, neighboring RTOs, and internal teams.
