Job summary
Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) is seeking an Engineer III specializing in Generator Interconnection. You will analyze power system impacts and support interconnection studies across the MISO footprint, coordinating with customers, Transmission Owners, and neighboring grid operators.
The role emphasizes technical analysis, stakeholder communication, and ensuring reliability as generation connects to the transmission system.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
- At least 3 years of job-related experience.
- Preferred: power system planning or operations experience.
- Experience with PSS/E, MUST, TARA, TSAT, and VSAT.
- Previous energy industry experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist with system impact studies for generator interconnection requests.
- Review projects proposed by Transmission Owners and provide technical recommendations.
- Coordinate studies and communicate results to customers and internal teams.
