Job summary

Granite Construction Incorporated is seeking an estimator/support professional to provide technical engineering and cost information to ensure construction work complies with engineering standards. This role supports contract, budget, schedule, forecasting and job costing; interprets drawings for craft workers; interfaces with on-site teams to resolve problems and keep the project on schedule.

Required: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management or related field and 2+ years

Qualifications

• 2+ years in construction estimating support, engineering, field support, or similar experience.
• Federal experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of technical training and related experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with job controls to ensure contract, budget, schedule, forecasting and job costing compliance.
• Interpret design drawings for craft workers to ensure specifications are followed.
• Interface with on-site departments to resolve problems and support project schedule.
• Research and resolve drawing interpretation issues to verify compliance with codes, drawings and specifications.
• Prepare documentation such as status reports, punch lists, and material calculations for accuracy.
• Provide technical support on project material controls to minimize additional costs.
• Prepare drawings and sketches to support change orders and estimates.
• Provide building control lines and elevations for accurate measurement and installation.
• Develop data including quantity take-offs, material prices, and labor costs for estimates.
• Assist in client/project meetings to ensure effective communication.
