Job summary

Granite Construction is seeking an estimator to develop accurate proposals for private and public works. You will review drawings, specifications, and site conditions, and coordinate with field teams to ensure complete bid packages.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years estimating experience, proficiency with MS Office, AGTEK Take-off, and Primavera scheduling, plus knowledge of civil/constructi on principles and UDBE requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or equivalent related work experience.
• 2+ years estimating experience; prior Project Engineer and take-off experience.
• Proficiency with MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience with AGTEK Take-off and Primavera Scheduling software.
• Working knowledge of Estimating software and civil/construction principles.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; familiarity with UDBE requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop accurate and timely proposals and estimates for private and public sector projects to keep Granite a responsive bidder.
• Analyze take-off quantities and reference drawings/specifications with field input to finalize estimates.
• Assess labor, material, equipment costs and location factors to ensure quality estimates.
• Analyze alternative methods to improve bid competitiveness and reduce risk.
• Present bid information to Senior/Chief Estimator and management for review.
• Communicate bidding strategies and risks to field operations at pre-construction meetings.
