Job summary

Granite Construction Company seeks an estimator to provide technical engineering and cost information ensuring construction work complies with engineering standards.

You will interpret drawings for craft workers, assist with controls for budget and schedule, and support project staff across departments to uphold quality and timeliness. A minimum of 2+ years in estimating support is required, with a Civil-related degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of construction estimating support, engineering or field experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with job controls to ensure budget, schedule, forecasting and job costing.
• Interpret drawings for craft workers to ensure specifications are followed.
• Interface with on-site departments to resolve problems and support project schedule.
• Research and resolve drawing interpretation issues to verify compliance with codes and specifications.
• Prepare and disseminate documentation such as status reports, punch lists, and material calculations.
• Provide technical support regarding material controls to minimize additional costs.
• Prepare drawings and sketches to support construction work, change orders and estimates.
• Provide building control lines and elevations for accurate measurement and installation.
• May supervise project staff and represent company in client meetings.
