Job summary

America Works of New York, Inc. is seeking an Engagement Specialist for a workforce development program in the Bronx.

The role provides individualized career services to low-income job seekers and requires strong case management and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will facilitate orientations, administer assessments, maintain case notes, and support program operations while promoting professionalism and inclusiveness to help clients find full-time employment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4-year degree required.
• Experience working with low-income and underserved populations in workforce development or social services contexts.
• Experience facilitating trainings or workshops.
• Spanish language skills a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Familiarity with Salesforce, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint preferred.
• Strong communication, professionalism, judgment, and organizational skills.
• Commitment to serving disadvantaged populations.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate daily orientation and intake sessions for clients referred by HRA.
• Present program requirements and expectations to participants.
• Administer TABE testing.
• Maintain timely case notes recording services, assessments, goals, referrals, etc.
• Complete timekeeping and administrative tasks; scan/upload documentation.
• Participate in daily meetings with program management.
• Provide support to other departments and management as needed.
• Maintain detailed case notes, attendance logs, and weekly reports.
• Model professionalism and inclusiveness to motivate clients toward full-time employment.
