Our Client, a Materials Engineering company, is looking for an Engineering Technician - Intermediate for their Austin, TX location.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine to moderately complex electro-mechanical technical functions such as design, test, checkout, fabrication, modification, troubleshooting, and assembly of electronics and electro-mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, prototype models, specialized test equipment, tools, and test fixtures.
- Test and troubleshoot system-level and component-level problems in electrical and mechanical systems and sub-systems.
- Perform new system and NPI installations and field upgrades.
- Work from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts, or plans to conduct testing and troubleshooting.
- Compile logbooks and test procedures documentation, utilizing good writing skills.
- Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, vacuum, and process testing on client platforms according to engineering and manufacturing documentation and specifications.
- Observe all safety standards and maintain a secure, safe, clean, and healthy work environment.
- Attend required health and safety training and follow safety and security policies, procedures, and practices.
- Report accidents, injuries, safety hazards, or emergencies promptly to supervisor or Safety department.
- Follow operating instructions, use protective equipment when required, and handle equipment and materials properly.
- Actively work to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Familiarize with current manufacturing and engineering processes and stay informed of changes.
- Assist in problem correction and perform rework as needed from testing.
- Generate Quality Notifications.
Requirements:
- This position is physically demanding, often requiring standing for extended periods, walking, working in tight spaces, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, reaching, climbing stairs and ladders, lifting, and operating heavy machinery including forklifts.
- Working in a clean room environment may require using Personal Protective Equipment such as coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, gloves, respirators, chemical aprons, and face shields.
