Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an Electrical Engineering intern for Summer 2027 in Chicago to support renewable energy, battery storage, and advisory practice areas. You will collaborate with Consulting teams and assist in due diligence, feasibility studies, and engineering efforts for utility-scale projects.

The role emphasizes learning in AC power systems, data tracking, and preparing technical deliverables, with opportunities to contribute to proposals and client communications.

Qualifications

• Pursuing either a Master's or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with at least six semesters completed.
• Experience/ coursework in AC power systems, renewable energy, or energy storage.
• GPA of 3.2 or higher.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Related internship or co-op experiences are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support project teams with due diligence of power generation and planning projects.
• Assist in development and execution of utility-scale solar, wind, and energy storage projects.
• Track and evaluate project activities and data.
• Prepare technical reports, designs, and specifications.
• Provide technical support to clients and assist in proposals and marketing materials.
