Job summary
UL Solutions seeks a Renewables Intern to join our Renewable Energy Advisory and Independent Engineering teams in Northbrook, IL or Chicago, IL. You will contribute to analytical, bankable energy yield assessments and due diligence on wind, solar, and BESS projects while collaborating with engineers, developers, and financial institutions.
This internship offers a 10–12 week project with hands-on data analysis, modeling, and QA/QC work, plus networking and professional development opportunities
Qualifications
- Pursuing a bachelor’s (rising senior) or master’s in a technical field.
- Interest in renewable energy technologies and power systems.
- Familiarity with Excel and data analysis is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Support Wind, Solar, and BESS advisory and IE teams on multiple projects.
- Assist with technical due diligence reviews of EPC, O&M, PPAs, and interconnection docs.
- Conduct data analysis, energy yield estimates, and model validation.
- Contribute to QA/QC logs and independent engineering reports.
- Support site inspections and research equipment trends.
