Job summary

ACCIONA Energía is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to support the development and construction of renewable energy projects in Chicago. This position provides hands-on experience working alongside experienced engineers on electrical design, specifications, and contractor management for large-scale renewable energy facilities.

Interns will work on-site in the Chicago office, 40 hours per week, with opportunities to engage in site visits to wind and PV facilities and participate in intern

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a B.S. program in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Strong problem-solving and technical aptitude.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Effective team player who can work independently.
• Strong communication skills and eagerness to learn.
• Proficiency with MS Office and general computer literacy.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel if required.

Responsibilities

• Support electrical engineering contractors with renewable facility design.
• Assist project managers with preliminary design of low voltage systems, collection systems, substations.
• Develop and update electrical specifications and standards for contractors.
• Assist with preparing bid packages and evaluating proposals.
• Review electrical equipment and material proposals and bid tab evaluations.
• Take on additional engineering support tasks as assigned.
