Job summary
UL Solutions is seeking a Renewables Intern in Northbrook, IL or Chicago, IL. You will support Wind, Solar, and BESS advisory work, assisting with pre-construction assessments, technical due diligence, and data-driven analyses.
As an intern, you will develop energy yield estimates, review EPC/O&M/PPA contracts, and contribute to independent engineering reports. The program runs 10–12 weeks with learning and networking opportunities.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or a related field.
- Familiarity with energy technologies and power systems is a plus.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist IE team with technical due diligence for renewable energy projects.
- Support pre-construction wind/solar resource assessments and data analyses.
- Review project documents (EPC, O&M, PPA, IA) under supervision.
- Help develop energy yield estimates and QA/QC logs.
- Contribute to research on equipment, tech trends, and market benchmarks.
- Support site inspections and project documentation management.
