Job summary

Franklin Energy is seeking an Outreach Specialist to develop, coordinate, support, implement, and manage outreach for both new program start-up and legacy programs. You will work with internal and external stakeholders to achieve outreach results and drive energy-saving initiatives.

The role requires outbound calling, relationship-building with contractors and customers, event planning, and data-driven reporting to meet program goals. Strong communication and organization are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required. Technical school degree combined with demonstrated experience in the electric/gas utility field may be considered when deciding on this position
• 1 – 2 years of experience in the electric or natural gas utility industry, sales, commercial and industrial lighting, or conservation
• Previous customer service experience required

Responsibilities

• Apply fundamental sales processes, procedures, methods and techniques.
• Understand and implement Sales Process, including outbound calls to new and existing customers to meet energy saving targets; manage field time with visits; develop and present program presentations; respond to inquiries to move projects toward completion; maximize opportunities to close a project.
• Recruit, train, educate and cultivate relationships with contractors and customers to encourage program marketing
• Maintain knowledge of program Best Practices and offerings; support outreach work plan creation and updates
• Develop understanding of program outreach direction and production goals
• Complete search and discovery when answers are not clear
• Cold calling new suppliers/contractors and developing participation
• Perform event planning, coordination and presentations of programs
• Research markets, identify key allies for programs
• Identify barriers and report to Program Manager and Outreach Manager
• Prepare weekly/monthly activity reports and track progress toward goals
• Assist in implementing energy efficiency programs in a flex capacity within budgets and targets
• Collaborate with non-outreach oriented team members
• Contribute ideas with respect to experience and knowledge
• Demonstrate honesty, keep commitments and act professionally
